You're 64 tabs open, 2 hours in, and agonizing over that reel in CapCut with all the angst of your thirteen-year-old self trying to pick the perfect song lyric for your AIM away message.

It’s 9:00 p.m.

If this reads like a scene from your life, I understand, and I am also so sorry.

DON’T GET ME WRONG, IT’S ALWAYS A SERENDIPITOUS OCCASION but

trying to go viral is not  the best book marketing strategy 😬

Conventional wisdom in the bookish world says social media = success. But relying solely on your socials to drum up sales can be… frustrating.

Like, someone firing up the internet while you’re on the landline frustrating.

Or, waiting for the DVD logo to bounce into the exact corner of the screen frustrating.

YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA DOESN’T NEED TO WORK QUITE SO HARD WHEN

Your branding and website handles some of the talking for you

But if you tried your hand at DIYing your brand or website, you may have experienced some less-than-spectacular results thus far.

It might feel off.
Valid. Your branding should look the way your work feels.
That’s a tricky balance to strike.

You’re not sure if anyone’s paying attention?
In a crowded industry like publishing, standing out has everything to do with knowing your audience.

It might not seem to be gaining much traction.
Been there. Mastering the art of a well-designed website that’s easy for Google to find and visitors to use is no mean feat.

If only you had someone working behind the scenes

A “guy in the chair,” if you will.
😎

So let’s make it bingeworthy

I want your audience glued to your brand like it’s a cable TV marathon of Gossip Girl

PARENTAL ADVISORY:

S1 is a great start, but nobody likes an unresolved cliffhanger. Your branding will do its best work once it’s implemented into a website.

I just need a logo! Do I have to go through the whole brand strategy exercise? +

It sure is. All of our intensives are 100% custom and unique to YOU. We don’t do templates or cookie-cutter brands over here. Your biz deserves so much better than that.

How do you make sure my brand reflects my personality and values? +

My questionnaire and kick-off call are designed to help me learn everything I need to know to create a brand that feels right.

What are the brand guide and quick reference sheet for? +

These are on hand to help you stay consistent with your branding. Also: agents and designers love them.

Do you provide any brand collateral like social media templates? +

Not right now, but I’ll have share my favorite social media marketing resources with you during offboarding.

Will you help me implement my branding? +

You’ll receive four weeks of implementation support, where I’ll be around on Slack to give you feedback and suggestions. You’ll do great, I promise.

What is a “semi-custom” website? +

The name is an industry standard, but it’s a bit misleading. A semi-custom website is fully customized, it just starts as a series of pre-designed elements instead of being created from scratch. Semi-custom design is faster and more budget friendly than custom design. A win all around.

Do you write the copy on the website for me? +

Sorry, that’s not in my wheelhouse. But I’m happy to either recommend a copywriter, or provide you with a free copywriting guide.

What if I already purchased a template? +

Great! We’ll customize it to meet your needs, and I’ll change the price of your package accordingly.

What platform will my website be built on? +

I build in Showit because it’s a user-friendly platform that is 100% customizable.

Can I use my website to sell my books? +

Showit doesn’t have an e-commerce feature. But I can integrate Shopify buy buttons, and link to places like Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Can I use my website to build my e-mail list? +

Absolutely. Whatever you’re using - Flodesk, MailChimp, Kit, etc., we can link your sign up form to your website to help you sell your books and grow your list.

PARENTAL ADVISORY:

All due respect, but starting a show at S2 is truly unhinged behavior. If you don’t already have a brand identity, expect to add the Mini Brand spin-off to our project.

What other things can I link on my website? +

So many, friend. ARC forms, submission guidelines, new client intake forms, booking links, press packets, blogs, appearances – the world is your oyster.

Will my website be mobile-friendly? +

Yes. Showit sites are fully responsive and mobile-friendly.

How many revisions are included? +

Two. If you need more, we may need to add extra time (and an extra fee).

How do my design days work? +

You’ll have access to a dedicated Slack channel for real-time communication during your design days. As I design each page, I send it to you for a quick review and feedback.

Will I be able to update my site on my own after it’s launched? +

Of course. You’ll be sent a training guidebook teaching you how to navigate the platform and make changes to your website. Or, if you’d like, we can have a live platform call instead.

You know what I don’t miss? Waiting a whole week between episodes. Call me impatient, but I’d much rather sit down and watch a series from start to finish.

What is the benefit of this combo offer vs booking them separately? +

This offer actually builds out a FULL brand identity for you as opposed to a mini version. With this offer, we dive deeper into brand strategy, and you'll get more in depth clarity on your ideal audience and how to speak to them.

Can each piece of this offer be scheduled separately or spread out? +

Absolutely! Though I’d recommend that you don’t wait more than 6 months between them, you can space these out as far as needed. This is a great approach if an extended payment plan is needed.

by some common misconceptions

“Authors don’t need branding, their books do.”

Personal branding for authors helps them show up in a polished and professional way, which is a huge advantage in the world of publishing and book sales. After all, as an author, YOU are the business.

“A link-in-bio is just as good.”

Au contrare, my friend.
Most link-in-bios aren’t indexed by traditional search engines. So if someone’s Googling you or your books, those links won’t appear until they’re a few clicks in.

“Websites are for indie authors. If I’m looking for a traditional publishing deal, I don’t need a website.”

Traditional publishers check for a website and brand to get a feel for whether or not you’re worth taking a chance on. Consider your website a job interview you don’t actually have to attend.

Monique, Private Chef

"Tyesha went above and beyond for my web redesign. I have had a website for 8 years and it was desperate for a makeover. I came in with a very old and outdated website with over 250 pages of info, and somehow Tyesha turned it into the most beautiful, organized and well designed website I've ever seen. I just loved the entire process. The organization aspect was remarkable, and her professionalism and knowledge of her craft was apparent. If you're thinking of working with Tyesha, this is your sign to go all in. No notes, just gratitude!"

"DO IT. Don't even think twice."

Jessica, Fiction Book Editor

"I was hesitant to hire someone to work on my website. I was worried they wouldn't be able to capture my vision, especially since I didn't really have it all together myself! Tyesha went above and beyond, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She captured my vision perfectly, and her suggestions were so helpful! She helped me to feel less anxious during the process as well. I highly recommend her services!"

"I couldn't have asked for a better experience."

Julia, Artist

"She took the time to truly understand my business, even diving into my Instagram to help create branding that felt perfectly me. She guided me through picking out custom fonts and templates that I absolutely loved, making my website feel both professional and uniquely personal. On top of her incredible design skills, she was patient, supportive, and so easy to work with—never making me feel rushed as I got everything together. If you're looking for someone who genuinely cares about your vision and brings it to life beautifully, she’s the one!"

"10/10!! Working with TJ's Atelier was an absolute dream!"

Fae, Personal Stylist & Mentor

"From beginning to end, she made me feel so comfortable and no question was too much for her. She took the time to understand my brand, making sure what she created was exactly what I envisioned. I'm so grateful for our experience together and cannot recommend her enough! Ty, thank you for helping me bring my vision to life. ❤️"

"Tyesha was an absolute joy to work with! "

Katie, Web Designer

"Ty's process from start to finish is super organized! She has a thorough onboarding client portal that was easy to navigate and access all my materials. She also is super quick to reply with any questions or concerns I had during our project. I didn’t know what to expect regarding preparation, revisions, and overall experience. But let me tell you, working with Ty has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my business."
