I'm a nurse by day, and a designer by night, or weekends, or whenever I choose. That’s the beauty of freelance work, am I right? As I’m currently working primarily as a nurse, you’re probably wondering how I got into graphic design. Well, this story really starts all the way back in my middle school days. For the sake of brevity, I’ll spare you that tale, but my interest in the arts and creative expression have always been commonplace for me. Despite this, I set off for college with the intent of becoming a doctor. I quickly switched to nursing as it was a better fit for what I wanted in my life, and now I currently work remotely and full-time, as an Informatics Nurse.
Now that I had a name to put with what I wanted to do, I went down the rabbit hole of YouTube videos and blog posts and solidified that this was exactly what I wanted to get into. I eventually found a way to learn and hone the skills I needed, and voila! Here I am.
Around 2021, still in the throes of COVID-19 pandemonium, I found myself desiring to re-explore my love of creative arts. The urge was so strong that I’d considered going back to school to obtain another degree, all while currently enrolled in a master’s level nursing program. Insanity may be a word that comes to mind, but I didn’t want to just start drawing or painting as a hobby. I wanted to really immerse myself into learning the technical aspect of the arts. My search for art programs led me to The Art Institute, where I stumbled upon the Visual Design program, specifically the Graphic and Web Design discipline. This really piqued my interest, particularly because it appeared to encompass all of the creative elements I enjoy but through the use of technology. If you checked out the description of informatics nursing, you’ll know that technology is also my thing. So this concept, graphic design, was the best of both worlds for me.

Masters in Nursing Grad.
Starting in Web Design
Outside of nursing and design, I’m truly a homebody at my core. However, the pandemic has helped me become more one with nature, which I’m sure my two dogs appreciate even if my allergies don’t. I’m also an avid reader, play piano, study languages, and enjoy working out. Most importantly I’d argue, I’m a huuuuge fan of Harry Potter! Fantasy books/tv/movies in general really.
It's to help YOU find joy and freedom like I did as an online business owner. Whether you're a nursepreneur like me, mompreneur, content creator, service provider - you name it! - I want you to experience the same unrestricted variety, limitless potential, and boundless purpose in your life that I do now. And it starts with claiming your space within the world wide web.
